Submission Terms & Conditions

1. Selection Committee, Jury and Awards

1. Selection of films for competition and panorama programs is made by The Selection Committee composed of 2 members.

2. Selection results will be posted on the official website of International Animated Film Festival BANJALUKA 2018, no later than 28 August.

3. The authors of the films will be informed about the decisions of the Selection Committee by e-mail.

4. The accommodation expenses for the directors of selected films shall be borne by the Festival.

5. Every director and producer whose films were selected for the official competition program will be contacted by the Festival team.

6. All submissions must contain a duly completed online Entry Form and uploaded screener of the film or Vimeo/YouTube link with password valid by the end of September (if the film's original language is other than English, the Festival requires English subtitles).

Submissions can be sent by mail also, containing a copy of duly completed Entry Form and the screener in „.mp4“ file-format, labeled with the film's title, director's name, and language of subtitles (if the film's original language is other than English, the Festival requires English subtitles).

2. The Jury

The official jury of the festival is international and consists of 3 members. Jury members are selected from the field of animated film or from related arts.

3. Awards

- GRAND PRIX (the best film of the Festival) - Statue of Festival and Diploma,

- Jury award for creativity and artistic expression – Statue of Festival and Diploma,

- Three awards for animation techniques (the best 2D, 3D, puppet/clay) - Statue of Festival and Diploma,

- Audience award – Statue of Festival and Diploma.

4. Participation at the Festival

1. The Festival covers accommodation costs for the directors of selected movies.

2. Every director and producer whose films were selected for the official competition festival program, will be contacted by the Festival team.

5. A screening copy of the film and return of copies

For the films that will be included in the competition program, the producer must send a copy of the film for screening no later than October 1st 2018, in one of the following ways:

1. by uploading it on the festival server or some other cloud-based computer file transfer service in format and image resolution adapted for high-quality film screening (at least HD 1080P). The access data for the server will be submitted after the selection of the films.

2. by mail on an optical disc, hard drive or USB flash drive in a format and resolution adapted to high-quality film screening (at least HD 1080P)

The Festival covers the cost of repatriating copies of selected movies for the competition program. Hard drive or USB flash drive will be returned to the address stated in the registration form no later than 40 days after the end of the festival.

6. Rights

All films that were sent on optical disc will remain in the festival archive and will be used for non-commercial screenings to the end of Festival promotion only.

7. Online film submission

Submission deadline for films is 10th of August 2018.

1. Animated films of any genre and of any animation technique less than 25 minutes duration may be registered for the festival.

2. Registered films must have been made in 2016 or later.

3. For each registered film a separate application form must be submitted.

4. Each application form must contain a completed online application form, a uploaded screener movie or a link to Vimeo / YouTube with with password valid by the end of September (if the film's original language is other than English, the Festival requires English subtitles) and additional material.

5. Aditional material comprises the following:

Director's CV, filmography and list of awards

Director's photograph (300dpi)

At least 4 photographs from the film with 300dpi resolution

A dialogue list in the English language with exact timing of appearance of each line (in .srt format or another format to enable using the list as a subtitle),

8. Procedure for submissions by land mail

Submission deadline for films is 10th of August 2018.

2. Registered films must have been made in 2016 or later.

3. Download PDF APLICATION FORM, print it, sign and send it along with the screener of the film in „.mp4“ file-format, labeled with the film's title, director's name, and language of subtitles (resolution at least HD 1080P) and additional materials, to the festival address:

4. Additional material comprises the following:

Director's CV, filmography and list of awards

Director's photograph (300dpi)

At least 4 photographs from the film with 300dpi resolution

A dialogue list in the English language with exact timing of appearance of each line (in .srt format or another format to enable using the list as a subtitle)

5. More than one film can be on one disc. For each registered film a separate registration form must be submitted.

6. Films and additional materials submitted by land mail are sent at your own expense.
